Chevrolet has two big reasons to celebrate over the weekend; today, the American marque celebrates its 100th birthday and today is when Chevrolet sold its 1 millionth Cruze small family car.
Although Chevrolet didn’t specify where the milestone model was heading, the Cruze ranks in fourth place globally among all competitive vehicles.
“I can’t think of a better birthday present,” said Chris Perry, vice president, global Chevrolet marketing and strategy. “Cruze’s combination of style, comfort, fuel-efficiency and safety is a hit across the globe. Our customers know a winner when they drive it.”
The Cruze went on sale in late 2009, with the largest markets being China, United States, Russia, Canada, Mexico, India, Turkey, South Korea, Israel, Spain, Germany, and the United Kingdom.
The Chevrolet brand was first unified on 3rd November 1911, by Swiss emigrant, Louis Chevrolet and then-sacked GM founder William C. Durant.
